Thank you for choosing Speakfire to help your congregation hear the message in their own language. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and Speakfire, Co., a Delaware corporation ("Speakfire," "we," "us," or "our"), covering your use of our live transcription and translation service (the "Service"). By creating an account, connecting an organization, or otherwise using the Service, you're agreeing to these Terms.
Speakfire is for speakers with a multilingual audience. To create an organization, you must be at least 18 years old and have the authority to bind that organization. Your congregation's audience view (/a/[slug]) is open to everyone, no account required — Section 5 (Acceptable Use) still applies to anyone using it.
An authenticated speaker starts a live session, and Speakfire transcribes the message in real time, translating it for audience members following along at your organization's permanent link. Features and how they work may change as we improve the Service.
You may sign up with email/password or Google OAuth. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Speakfire accounts are organized around your organization, and other members may have access depending on how your organization is set up. Notify us at contact@speakfire.co right away if you suspect unauthorized use.
Speakfire offers a free trial and paid plans. Current plans, rates, and usage limits are shown in your account dashboard and on our pricing page, and may change as the Service evolves.
We ask that you don't use Speakfire to:
We may suspend or close accounts over violations of this section, and for serious cases, we may involve the relevant authorities.
We rely on established third-party providers to help deliver the Service — for things like speech recognition, translation, hosting, infrastructure, payment processing, analytics, and email delivery. Your content may pass through these providers as part of delivering the Service to you, under their own data-handling terms. We do not sell your data. If you need a full list of subprocessors — for example, for a data processing agreement — just ask.
Speakfire uses AI to generate transcripts and translations, and AI isn't perfect. Output can include mistranscribed words, mistranslated phrasing, missing context, or occasionally something the speaker never actually said. Think of Speakfire as a way to help more of your congregation follow along — not as an official, word-for-word record of the service or sermon. Please don't rely on it for anything safety-critical, medical, legal, or otherwise high-stakes.
The Service itself — our software, design, and underlying technology (not your content) — belongs to Speakfire, Co. Please don't copy, modify, distribute, or build derivative works from it without our written permission first. Feedback or ideas you send us about the Service may be used by us without owing you anything for it.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal data — including how we send promotional and transactional email — and it's incorporated into these Terms by reference.
We don't store raw audio — it's processed in real time and then discarded. Transcript and translation text is stored while your account is active, and generally remains accessible even if your plan lapses — that affects starting new sessions, not access to existing data. If you request deletion of your data or your account, we'll remove your transcripts and translations within 90 days, except for records we must keep for billing, tax, or legal reasons. Want a copy first? Email contact@speakfire.co.
Either of us can walk away from this relationship at any time. We may restrict, suspend, or close your account without notice for Terms violations or billing issues. Once your access ends, so does your right to use the Service — though a few provisions naturally live on past that point (ownership, disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability). Data deletion after termination follows Section 11.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY TRANSCRIPT OR TRANSLATION WILL BE FULLY ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SPEAKFIRE, CO. AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE'VE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR (B) THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Speakfire, Co. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time as Speakfire grows. If we make a material change, we'll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that point means you're on board with the update.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except that either party may bring an eligible claim in small-claims court.
If any part of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a right or provision right away, that doesn't mean we've given it up. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and Speakfire, Co. about the Service.
