Why I built Speakfire

The name Speakfire is a nod to what happened in Acts 2.

They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.Acts 2:3-4

I've sat in ethnic churches where I didn't understand a word. And I've invited my immigrant parents to my church where they couldn't keep up with the English spoken.

So I built Speakfire.

A modern tool inspired by an ancient miracle, granting pastors the gift of many tongues so every member and visitor can feel like they belong.

How does Speakfire's real-time translation work?
You speak into any device with a mic. Speakfire transcribes your sermon in real time and streams translations to your congregation's phones — as readable text and, in supported languages, as live audio they can listen to through earbuds. One session, one link, everyone follows in their own language.
Does my audience need to install an app?
No. They open your church's link in any smartphone browser — nothing to download or sign up for. They pick their language once and the translation appears in real time every week.
Do you support live audio or is it text only?
Both. Most of our 15 languages support live audio listening through earbuds, plus a real-time text transcript. A few languages are text-only for now — see the full list above.
Is there a limit to the number of listeners?
No. Unlimited listeners on every plan. You're billed only for active translation time — not by your audience size.
What if there's a language I need that's not on the list?
We're adding new languages regularly. If yours isn't listed yet, reach out at contact@speakfire.co — tell us what your congregation needs and we'll let you know what's coming.
How do we connect it directly to our sound system?
Use Speakfire Desktop (Mac or Windows) to capture audio directly from your mixer or audio interface — no virtual audio drivers. Download it from the Downloads page — it works on trial and paid plans. On trial, desktop sessions use your free trial minutes; the web app is still a great option for quick setups with a built-in or USB microphone.
How is this any different from Google or Apple Translate?
Consumer apps are built for one person translating short phrases. Speakfire is built for live preaching: one shared link for your whole congregation, continuous sermon translation, optional live audio in earbuds, and AI trained with biblical text and preaching — not back-and-forth typing on a phone.
